First Sight

Serena pushed her black hair out of her face to take a glance at her phone. She needed to get on the road... A big storm was coming in a few days, and she wanted to be back in Montana by the time it hit.
The biting wind nipped at her nose and ears, while Canance and Sam finished hooking the horse trailer to her blue Ford. Sliding her cell back in the pocket of her white camo coat, she trudged through the foot deep snow. The fake fur from her hood tickled her chin, causing her to rub her neck. "How's it coming?"
Sam glanced over Canance's shoulder, "Its frozen.."
It took around 5 minutes later, the trailer was finally attached to the truck. Everyone sighed in relief. No one wanted Serena to get stuck in the storm on the way back.
Canace stood up and walked to Ren. "Please be careful... I hate that you are going alone..."
"I know my love, but man power is needed here. The wind is going to hit hard... We all know it." Serena watched the mist that floated from her mouth as she talked. "Which means some fences are going to go down. Thus, horses are probably going to get out... We have prepared for this storm for a few weeks now. Everything will be fine." She smiled, locking eyes with her soon to be husband. "I love you, and I promise I will pull over if I ever feel scared or anything like that."
Still worried, Canance pulled Ren in his arms and held her tight. "You better." Pulling back he kissed her lips and lead her to the truck. He opened the door for her, like the gentleman he was. "There is some blankets in the trailer. We put a few straw bales in with the hay. I put a few cords of fire wood just in case. Matches are in a zip lock baggy in the first air kit. A full blanket and leg warmers are in there as well. Flash light, battery headed blanket and water pale..." He trailed off at her amused look. "What?"
"You act like Kick and I are going to be stranded in a 10 foot snow drift with no help. That's what." He started to say something so she beat him to it. "I have grown up here in Montana... I have gone hunting in bad snow storms. I have been stuck... I know what to do. I have everything I need. I really need to get going."
He nodded glumly. Leaning in, he gave her one last kiss. "I love you."
"I love you too."

A couple days later, Serena reached Nevada, ditching her coat in the passenger seat. She pulled in to a gas station, to get some gas and check all her lights. Deciding to get something to eat, she headed to a small dinner. After ordering a cheese burger, she pulled out her phone and dialed Natalie, the owner of Painted Desert Ranch. "Hey Natalie, its Serena Arroyo.... How you doing?!".... Yeah me too. I'm in Nevada, not far away. I'm just getting something to eat and I will be headed that way.... See you soon"
The call was ended as the food was brought to her table. "Perfect timing" She smiled up at the young blond waitress. "Thank you."

Less then an hour later, she pulled into PDR. All the horses were beautiful. She grinned as she saw a Brunet come walking into view, waving.
Pulling up, Serena turned off the truck and unbuckled. "Hey." She greeted Natalie as she stepped out of the cab.
They shared a quick hug before stepping away from each other. Serena's mismatched eyes took in the Nevada landscape around her. "Its so nice here... There is a foot of snow in Montana..."

Natalie asked about her drive and how things were going, while she let the way to Kickin' Showdown.

Breeder Notes:
She once more sticks to the Hancock trademark of the more you warm her up the worse she gets. She has a very bitchy additude naturally(although she is not mean about it, she just always has her ears back and doesn't like small spaces; trailers included) so if she is warmed-up too much she is sent off the deepend and she will pitch a fit everytime you ask her to do something. She has a lot of stamina so it takes a while to get her under control. We recommend daily riding for an hour to keep the edge off and at shows a complete warm-up to prevent injury but not more than 10 minutes. She generally will do what you want as long as she doesn't get rattled up. When your on the ground with her though she is another horse. She will not kick, bite or rear. She looves young kids and the more shes around them the more she just sticks her face down to hug them. She did get Kicks little bitchness but she also got Spanky's fun side We recommend a very experienced hand when it comes to training this lady.
